Reverend Harold Gray Meers, Sr. born April 6th, 1936, in Magnolia, Kentucky, passed away, Monday, July 15th, 2024, at the age of 88 in Charleston, South Carolina from an extended illness with Alzheimer’s.
He served as Senior Pastor for almost 60 years in Baptist churches nationwide.
Harold was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Meers, his four children, Susan Wells (Henry), Patty Meers, Caroline Meers (Mike), and Harold Meers, Jr. (Sandy), his nine grandchildren, Jesse Thomas, (Sarah), H.G. Wells (Caroline), JoLeigh Lutz (Matt), Watterson Wells, Samantha Shaffer (Frank), Gabrielle Bodine (Kyle) Josh Meers (Savannah), Maggie Meers, and Harold Gray Meers, III, and his seven great- grandchildren, Bailey, Eve, Deacon, Augusta, Henry, Clay, and Reagan.
The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
