Glenn Larry Howell, age 78, of Buffalo, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
He was a long-time member, deacon and former trustee at South Fork Baptist Church; retired from maintenance at LaRue County Fiscal Court, loved coffee, playing Rook and was a huge UK sports fan. Glenn loved life, taking everything in stride and was always happy. He never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a smile.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Joe and Vernie Warren Howell; a sister, Sherry Strange; a brother, Lonnie Howell and beloved in-laws Ray and Mamie Perkins.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Melinda Howell; a daughter, Missy (Troy) Milby of Buffalo; a son, Larry (Kay) Howell of Magnolia; three grandchildren, Benjamin (Whitley) Milby, Cody (Stephanie) Howell, Tyler (Molly) Howell; eight great-grandchildren, Katlyn Jackson, Justin Milby, Hudson Howell, Madilyn Milby, Knox Howell, Klyde Howell, Jolee Howell, Kennedy Howell; a sister, Theresa (Jim) Banks of Elizabethtown; a brother, Harley (Marie) Howell of Elizabethtown as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Jonathan Carl and Rev. Norm Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Family Cemetery near Buffalo.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
