George "Tommy" Bell Obituary

George Thomas “Tommy” Bell, age 95, of Hodgenville, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at his residence.

He was a Navy veteran and fought in the Korean War. Tommy was a retired electrician, an avid fisherman, a John Deere enthusiast and a gentleman farmer.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ida Durham Bell; his sister, Lila Skaggs, and his brother, Walter Bell.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 69 ½ years, Frankie Heath Bell, three children, Doug (Mona) Bell, Tami (Bobby) Tawney, and Craig (Laura) Bell all of Hodgenville; three grandchildren, Darla (Richard) Harrison, Detra (Jacob Barnes) Whitlock-Darst and John (Kayla) Bell. He was adored by seven great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Hodgenville Pentecostal Church with Rev. Richard Harrison and Rev. David Webb officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the Marion County Honor Guard will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Expression of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hodgenville Gideon Camp and can be made at the funeral home.
