George Edward Pruitt, age 79, of Magnolia, passed away, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin.
He was a master craftsman and a retired dairy farmer. George loved woodworking and watching basketball games, but most of all his family and keeping up with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Phyllis Wright Pruitt; his parents, Roy and Catherine Slayton Pruitt; two sisters, Laverne Eads and Pauline Holsman; a brother, Johnny Pruitt.
George is survived by a daughter, Kim (Greg) Clough of Pewee Valley; two sons, Keith (Farrah) Pruitt of Buffalo and Sean Pruitt of Mt. Sherman; four grandchildren, Nolan (Bri) Clough, Mason Clough, Isaiah Pruitt and Ellah Pruitt; two sisters, Shirley Bland, Maggie Gaddie; three brothers, Leroy Pruitt, Shelby (Josie) Pruitt and Otis (Gina) Pruitt.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, January 19, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, Bro Shannon McCubbins officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Haven of Rest Cemetery in Mt. Sherman.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 pm Saturday and continue after 12 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
George’s pallbearers will be Nolan Clough, Mason Clough, Isaiah Pruitt, Bobby Pruitt, Mark Pruitt and Bobby Harmon. Honorary pallbearer will be Ellah Pruitt.
