Mabel Frances Chelf McCoy, age 97, of Elizabethtown, passed away, Saturday, January14, 2023, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
She was born in 1925 to her parents W.L. and Ida Druen Chelf, was a long time member of Pikeview Baptist Church, retired teacher from North Hardin School Systems, active in Hardin County Retired Teachers, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, loved gardening, growing flowers and quilting.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Guy McCoy; her parents, W.L. and Ida Druen Chelf; a daughter in law, Suzann McCoy; two sisters, Ruth Woods and Jessie Chelf; three brothers, Harvey Chelf, James Chelf and Woodrow Chelf.
She is survived by a son, W.L. McCoy of Hodgenville; two grandchildren, Angelina (Claudio) McCoy Toro and Andrew (Emily) McCoy; three great grandchildren, Lily McCoy, Ruby McCoy and Zoe Toro, a sister in law Kathleen Chelf and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, January 22, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Dewayne Gibson and Bro. David Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Pikeview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Saturday, January 21 and after 10 A.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
