Frances Taylor Ard, passed away, peacefully on February 9th, 2024, in Portland Oregon at the age of 81.
Fran was born on December 25, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky to Carl Taylor and Grace (Reynolds) Taylor. She attended a one-room schoolhouse in Green County until the 5th grade when the family moved to Magnolia. She was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church. After graduating from LaRue County High in 1960, she attended Western Kentucky University.
In 1962, she married Harold. They moved several times, spending many years in Gaylord, MN; Schuylkill Haven, PA: Galion, OH; Tupelo, MS; and Portland, OR. They made friends wherever they went.
She is survived by her husband Harold Ard; her son Tony Ard (Lisa) of Portland, OR; her son Daniel Ard of Nashville, TN; her daughter-in-law Beth Brdlik of Portland, OR; her siblings Rachel, Lynn, Jay, and Vanessa; and her grandchildren Holden, Molly, Riley, Veronica, Juliette, and Madeleine. She was preceded in death by her son Jonathan Ard and her sister Carlene.
A memorial service will be held at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, with a graveside service to follow at Hammonsville Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
