Eugene Hutcherson, age 96, of Buffalo, passed away, Tuesday, April 5, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
He was a retired building contractor and farmer and loved making quilts.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wives, Geneva Hornback Hutcherson on January 7, 1988 and Edwina Paris Hutcherson on December 20, 2022; a daughter, Janet Marcum; a son, Ronald Hutcherson; his parents, Harry and Ethel Shofner Hutcherson; four sisters, Marie Blair, Wanda Mattingly, Esther LaRue and Vena Tyner; a brother, David Hutcherson; a son-in-law, Ernest Sadler and a step-son-in-law, Lamar Liles.
He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ann Sadler of Hardin County and Marie (Danny) Puckett and Eugenia Mae (John) Mills, all of Elizabethtown; a daughter-in-law, Jean Marie Hutcherson of Bardstown; a son-in-law, Harold Marcum of Buffalo; a brother, Omer (Joy) Hutcherson of Sonora; four step-children, Jan Liles of FL, Gary (Sonya) Rice of TN, Glen (Peggy) Rice of Buffalo and Kimberly (Richard) Osburn of Lexington; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at South Fork Church Cemetery near Hodgenville with Bro. Merrill Kurtz officiating.
Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville is in charge of the arrangements.
