Doris Jean Edlin, born Doris Jean LeMaster on September 9, 1942, in Hardinsburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at her residence in Hodgenville.
Throughout her life, Doris was deeply rooted in faith and family. For the past 28 years, she served as the dedicated church secretary at Union Christian Church in Hodgenville. Her commitment to the church community was a testament to her steadfast spirit and devotion. Doris also spent cherished years helping her daughters raise her grandchildren – a time they held dear.
Doris’s beloved husband, Harold Edward Edlin, preceded her in death.
Doris’s family was central to her life. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Donna (Marcus) LaFollette of Hodgenville, Melissa (Terry) Wyatt of Berea and Heather (Jeff) Meredith of Elizabethtown; she is also remembered by her grandchildren, Aaron LaFollette, Nicholas (Sabrina) LaFollette, Daniel Wyatt, Austin Wyatt, Grace Meredith, Walker Meredith and Logan Meredith.
A funeral service honoring Doris’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, Bros. Steve Campbell and Sid Lewis are officiating. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband in Union Christian Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Doris’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her through her unwavering dedication to family and faith. May her legacy continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all whose lives she touched.
