Doris Jean (Gardner) Haselwood

Doris Jean Haselwood, age 92, of Hodgenville, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

She was a member of First Baptist Church Hodgenville and a lifelong wife, mother and grandmother.  She was first and foremost a devoted woman of God and a faithful and loving mentor to her children and grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Cola Gardner; her husband, Bill Haselwood; a grandson, Derek Duggins; two sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn (Denny) Duggins, Carlotta (John) Detre and Jennifer (Bobby) Lewis; a son, Steven (Sheila) Haselwood; six grandchildren, Dr. Josh (Dana) Detre and Dr. Jason (Natalie) Detre, Caitlin (Grant) and Brooke Lewis, Alana Haselwood and Ali (Toby) Loyall; eight great-grandchildren, Caden Detre, Emily Detre, Ella Grace Detre, Jace Detre, John Abram Detre, Kinsly Noel Detre, Tucker Blake Loyall and Lacey Alexandra Loyall and a sister, Vivian Sherrard.  Doris also leaves her faithful neighbors, Rick, Cathy and Michelle.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 2, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Dr. Jason Detre officiating.  Burial will follow in Sonora Cemetery.  Doris’ pallbearers will be Denny Duggins, John Detre, Bobby Lewis, Josh Detre, Grant Flaugher and Caden Detre.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
