Donald Lee Puckett, age 91, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 19, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. An Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was a lifelong farmer, retired carpenter and took pride in his tobacco crop and garden.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Robelia Hawkins Puckett; four brothers, Hubert, Douglas, Buiel and Houston Puckett and four sisters, Mabel Brent, Ada Whitlow, Georgina Magness and Audrey Puckett.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years and 9 months, Mary Kathryn Pennington Puckett; four children, Teresa (Ruel) Brackett of Upton, Marilyn (Carlie) Brooks of Magnolia, Eric (Sheila) Puckett of Leitchfield and Vickie (Joey) Bales of Sonora; a sister, Helen Hines of Magnolia; nine grandchildren, Mark Brackett, Tina (Kevin) Propes, Scotty Brooks, Kelly Brooks, Kayla (Caleb) Ernst, Cory (Lea) Bales, Lindsey (Michael) Rice, Crissy Rowland and Craig (Kristy) Hodges and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, (ET) Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Paul Hines and Pastor Jeff Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, (ET), Saturday and after 1 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
