Donald Wayne Farris, age 78, of Buffalo, a native of Seattle, Washington, passed away, Friday, December 1, 2023, at his residence.
He was retired from the United States Army after 23 years of service, he loved golf, his motorcycles and his “fur babies”.
Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred “Millie” Farris; his parents, Ted and Myrtle Shiderer Farris and a brother, Bill Miller.
He is survived by wife, Charlee Riplinger Farris; three daughters, Marie (Mike) Colasanti of Rineyville, Rebecca Jones Lebanon, Missouri and Robin ((Chris) Goodin of Elizabethtown; a step-daughter, Tessa Ferrell of Louisville; a sister, Carol Taylor; 11 grandchildren, Joshua Porter, Amanda Porter, Tony Porter, Matthew Hager, Jessica Jones, Cheree Jones, Kristopher Jones, Ryan Gooden, Cameron Gooden, Steven Finney and Siara Finney and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 4, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Marion County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will include his grandsons, Matthew, Josh, Tony, Ryan, Cameron and Christopher.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
