David Coleman Skaggs, age 70, of Vinegrove, passed away, Friday, December 20, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
David was a retired Army veteran with 22 years of active service, a Member of Levelwoods United Methodist Church, American Legion Hardin Post 113, the Audie Murphy Club, and a graduate of Larue County High School class of 1972.
David was preceded in death by his parents, William and Norma Lee Skaggs, a brother Douglas Wayne Skaggs, and a sister Janice Irene Skaggs.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Carman Skaggs; a son, Andrew (Joselyn) Skaggs of Utah; a daughter, Krystal (Matthew) Thompson of Greensburg; five grandchildren, Dallas Carroll, Elijah Wykpisz, Connor Skaggs, Charleigh Skaggs, Ellie Skaggs, and step grandchild Dacian Anderson-Young; a sister, Juanita (Larry) Skaggs of Campbellsville and a brother, Darrell Skaggs of Levelwoods; and two maternal aunts Margie Brewer, and Shellie Allen.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 27, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Freddie Thompson Officiating.
Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 30, in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continue after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
