Danny Franklin Rock, age 75, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at his residence.
Danny was born April 15, 1949; he graduated from LaRue County High School in 1967; he was an All-State Football player and received a scholarship to the University of Cincinnati to play football. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Degree and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky; later he received his Law Degree from South Texas College of Law.
Danny returned to Hodgenville in October of 1979, and opened his private law practice; he became LaRue County Attorney in 1986, where he served until January 2003; he then returned to private practice and built his real estate business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Rock and Brooksie Skaggs Rock; two sister, Linda Gusler and Betty Gusler; a brother, Bobby Rock.
Danny is survived by his son, Troy C. (Christy) Rock, of Georgetown; a daughter, Kera Rock (David) Burks of Lexington; five grandchildren, Grant Rock, Gavin Rock, Monroe Burks, Brooksie Burks, and Veda Burks; a brother, Harold (Vivian) Rock of Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1st, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Lucas Hedgespeth officiating. Private family burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Danny’s pallbearers will be Paul Massie, Kerry Gusler, Matt Prahl, Tim Ford, Keaton Ford, and Jason Milby; honorary pallbearers will be Bob Burrell and Danny T. Rock.
