Daisy Glenn Underwood Coffey, age 81, of Elizabethtown, passed away, Monday, January 18, 2021, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
She attended Open Door Assembly where she sang and played the piano for over 30 years. Daisy was selfless and motivated by a fiercely protective love for her family and church. She sacrificed often to ease the burdens of her loved ones. Daisy’s smile and laughter could fill up a room, she was very much loved and will be sorely missed by those close to her.
Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Coffey; her parents, Roy and Sudie Allen Underwood; seven sisters, Jessie Marie Snead, Emma Marr, Louise Skaggs, Mary Lucas, Betty Jean French, Eva Cauthen, and Ruth Sharon Catlett and three brothers, Roy Underwood Jr., Delbert Underwood and Donald Underwood.
She is survived by a sister, Ruby (Conroy) Harris of Munfordville; two stepsons, Donald (Pam) Coffey and Gene Coffey all of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren, Jimmy (Aimee) Coffey, Meghann (Kevin Hatfield) Coffey, Wes Coffey, Ashley (Brian) Chamberlain, Tyler (Allison) Coffey and Eric (April) Coffey; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 23, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Mike Willingham officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Friday and after 9 am on Saturday.
In light of the ongoing pandemic, the family requests that all visitors wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
