Clara Wilma Goff Pottinger, age 96, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
She was born on August 12, 1928, in a log house near Powder Mills, was a member of Christian Fellowship in Upton and enjoyed singing, playing scrabble and going to church.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Pottinger; her parents, James Robert and Lura Elsie Vaughn Goff and her four siblings, John Goff, Dayton Goff, Inez Patterson and Rev. Jim Goff.
She is survived by four children, Regina (Rick) Tinsley of Magnolia, Wendell (Neicha) Pottinger of Jonesville, Desta (Danny) Carver of Linwood and Devona (Tim) Hayes of Hardinsburg; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Ron) Lyles, Steve Harris, Brian (Rachael) Walters, AshLee (Tim) Lewis, Susan (Jamie) Herring, Courtney (Zach) Hoppes , Jacob (Kaylee) Hayes and Tyler Carver and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. (ET) Monday, June 30, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Nicky Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. (ET), Sunday and after 10 a.m. (ET) Monday at the funeral home.
Wilma’s pallbearers will be Steve Harris, Billy McCrady, Jake Hayes, Randall Kersey, Brian Walters and Ian Williamson; honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Goff, Rick Goff, James Patterson, Tim Lewis, Quinn Lewis, Daniel Walters, Aiden Ellis, Aaron Ellis, John Walters and William Ellis.
