Christine Smith Obituary

Christine Smith, 74, of Clarkson, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away, Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.

 

She was a retired supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service, having served offices in Evansville, Louisville and Elizabethtown.

 

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Matilda Reed Nichols; a sister, Velma Wells and three brothers, Roger, W.L. and Ralph Nichols.

 

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jim Smith; her son, Jeffery Dean Smith of Louisville; a grandson, Jeffery James Smith of Alabama; three sisters, Carolyn (Pete) Bevil, Wanda (Craig) Richards and Rita (Charlie) Garrett all of Elizabethtown; three brothers, John Nichols of Elizabethtown, David (Pat) Nichols of Hodgenville and Damon (Diane) Nichols of Magnolia.

 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 27, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardin Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
