Carroll Wayne Lawson, age 87, of Hodgenville, passed away, Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
He was a United Sates Air Force Veteran, worked for Ft. Knox Fire Department for over 20 years, enjoyed, electronics, fishing, golfing and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, Hanson Ray “Dan” and Goldie LaFollette Lawson and a step-daughter Karen Hughes.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lawson, a daughter, Rhonda (Patrick) Sims of Florida; a son, Brad (Donia) Lawson of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren, Dustin Russell, Maggie Russell, Victoria Lawson and Patrick Lawson; a great-granddaughter, Alice Russell; two step-daughters, Carrie (Hank) Warren of Hodgenville and Tracey Whelon of Mammoth Cave; five step-grandchildren, Kyle Hughes, Susan Herring, Amanda Lee, Ian Mortenson, Sarah Mortenson and a sister, Faye (Donald) Davenport of Hodgenville.
Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Friday, January 20, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Doug Bell officiating, with cremation to follow. Burial of his ashes will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, January 20, at the funeral home.
