Carrell Glenn Salsman, age 83, of Magnolia, passed away, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Baptist Health Louisville, with is family by his side.
He lived in LaRue County his entire life. He worked numerous jobs in his early life, as a construction worker, General Electric, Phelps Heating and Cooling, Peppers Mail route from Elizabethtown to Magnolia, then he moved to General Telephone Company where he worked for 30 years and then retired from public work.
Carrell returned home to the farm where he began raising a beef cattle herd and raising hay for them up until his death, he enjoyed working with them each day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee and Christine Brown Salsman.
Carrell is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Grimes Salsman; a son, Barry (Donna) Salsman; four grandchildren, Tyler (Kyra London) Salsman, Michael Boone, Brittany (Eric) Grant and Joshua (Tiffany) Salsman; three great-grandchildren, Cole Grant, Kaydence Grant and Jaden Salsman.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 26, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Pepper and Bro. David Fortner officiating. Burial will follow in the South Fork Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and continue after 10 a.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers, will be W.T. Gardner, Mitchell Whitlow; pallbearers will be Tyler Salsman, Michael Boone, Jaden Salsman, Jeff Rust, Timmy Hatcher and David Hathway.
