Carolyn Sutherland Mather, age 84, of Buffalo, passed away, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a member of Steadfast Baptist Church and Lincoln Days Committee, was vice president of Buffalo bank and was involved in Buffalo Days. She was always dedicated to her community, church and family. Her greatest highlight was visiting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Florida.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Edna Hines Sutherland; a sister, Phyllis Duncan and a brother, Donnie Sutherland.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Carl Mather; two daughters, Cathy (Eric) Brandenburg of Elizabethtown and Cheryl Mather of Buffalo; a son, C.E. (Cindy) Mather of Pensacola, Florida; a grandson, Clay (Alison) Mather of Pensacola; three great grandchildren, Mary Lynn, Denton and Joanna Mather.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Rodney Troutman, Bro. Ryan Coffey and Bro. Glenn Chasteen officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Carolyn’s pallbearers will include, Timmy Creason, Danny Sutherland, Greg Nunn, Teddy Nunn, Donnie Hornback and Nick Brooks; honorary pallbearers will be Lyle Warren.
