Carl Leon Heath, age 72, of Sonora, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he started his first business in 1978, Heath’s Chevron in Sonora which moved to Elizabethtown in January of 1990, being renamed Carl’s Chevron, then opened Carl’s Auto Care and Towing in 2006 which he operated to the present. He enjoyed playing on the farm and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Mae Riggs Heath; a brother and sister-in-law, James “Tooter” and Charlotte Pearson; a sister, Minnie Wease and his father-in-law, James Louis Bennett.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vivian Heath; a daughter, Carla (Mike) Graham; a son, Chad-Alan of the Heath Family; four grandchildren, Heath (Abrigail) Graham, Carlie Graham, Kayla Heath and Derek Heath; four sisters, Mary (Warren) McCandless, Gail Ryan, Bonnie (Timmy) Lynch and Connie Heath Priddy; five brothers, Irvin (Brenda) Pearson, William Thomas Adkins, Jackie Heath, Willie Heath, Leon Bryant and David Grant; his father, Carl Houston “Jack” Heath; his step-mother, Shirley Crump; four loyal employees, Gary Lewis, Dewain Brown, Joe Butler and Daniel “Sunshine” Ard and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 13, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Ronnie Ramsey and Bro. Mike Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Leesville Cemetery near Upton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
