Beverly Haxton Obituary

Beverly Lou McCracken Haxton went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. Beverly was born in Andover, New York November 23, 1930. She was the eldest of six, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Beverly married Charles R. Haxton of West Pike PA on January 25, 1953, in Wellsville NY. She and Charles raised seven children. During her teen to early adult years she was an accomplished roller skater earning a bronze medal.

In addition to serving alongside her husband Charles as a pastor’s wife, Beverly’s home was filled with artistic expression that she shared with her family. Beverly had a creative and artistic heart. She spent many years sewing and hand crafting clothing and decorations for her home and family. She later expanded her creativity to painting and music. Beverly painted on canvas, ceramic pottery, fabrics and even her cupboards.

In her later years she participated regularly in The Range Country Show, a local community music production put on monthly in Northern Minnesota. Beverly enjoyed singing and would spend many hours practicing with friends and family. For many years Beverly also enjoyed opening her home to church friends and family. She enjoyed entertaining loved ones and would spend many hours preparing delicious meals and setting the perfect table. If you left before desert, you would miss out on her famous flakey pie crust.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Virginia Millspaugh McCracken; her husband, Rev. Charles R. Haxton; her sisters and brothers-in-law Mary (Herb) Vaughn, Shirley (William) Halle; her sons-in-Law, Brian Hanke and Richard Edblom and a great-great grandson Ryder Lee Tisdell.

Haxton of Austin, TX and James (Kim) Haxton of Levittown, NY; four daughters, Marrianne (Rodney) Violette of Natchez, MS, Jo Edblom of Elizabethtown, Judy (Edward) Mowrer of Portales, NM and Rebecca (Fred) Johns of Harrison, AR; 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
