Bettye Jean Thomas, age 84, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Helmwood Healthcare Center in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from teaching at LaRue County High School after 32 years.
Jean, was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Thomas; her parents, Oval and Ruth Allred Turner and a sister, Linda Sue Nallia.
She is survived by two daughters, Laura Sebastian of Louisville and Amy (Larry) Truitt of Clarkson; two sons, David (Karen) Thomas of Bowling Green and Daniel (Clarissa) Thomas of Hodgenville; seven grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Rachlin, Benjamin Truitt, Kathryn Thomas, Rebecca Thomas, Abigayle Thomas, Ella Thomas and Jackson Thomas; three sisters, Kathy (Charles) Cravens of Hodgenville, Ruth Ann (Furman) Taylor of Charlestown, South Carolina and Debbie Jo (Randall) Cox of Elizabethtown.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, January 11, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home with Bro. DeWayne Gibson and Matthew Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continue after 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
