Beatrice “Elvon” Skaggs, passed away, Sunday, December 10, 2023, at her residence in Hodgenville.
She volunteered and worked at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville for over thirty years and was a member of Levelwoods United Methodist Church. She loved God, loved to read, play the piano, music and was a James Bond aficionado; she loved her children and grandchildren more than anything.
Elvon was preceded in death by her parents, Garlen and Sadie Underwood Skaggs and a brother, Paul Skaggs.
She is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Dana (John) Fay of Hodgenville and Yvette Dionne (Danny) Martin of Coxs Creek; two sisters, Bonnie Farmer of Buffalo and Phyllis (Marc) Thurman of Elizabethtown; a brother, David Skaggs of Lebanon Junction; five grandchildren, John Dalton Fay, Mason Fay, China (Kollin) Reynolds, Nova Fay and Jonah Martin and a special cousin, Larry (Jaunita) Skaggs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 14, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Chesser officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In keeping with her wishes, the family requests that guests wear yellow if they are able to while visiting at the funeral home.
