Barbara Gerner

Barbara Gerner, age 79, of Hodgenville, passed away, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Kensington Manor in Elizabethtown.

She loved singing in the senior choir at church, reading, horses and being with her grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gerner; a daughter, Tamara Brautigan; her parents, Paul Allen and Gladys Oliver Hughes and a brother, Thomas E. Hughes.

She is survived by three sisters, Sharon (Gilbert) Richardson and Paula (Kieth) Hughes Richardson, all of Hodgenville and Debbie (John) Beck of San Antonio, TX; four step-daughters, Diane Feldman and Dona Brown, both of Ft. Thomas, Debbie Rottman of Edgewood and Dana Gerner of Union; three grandchildren, Andrew Barker, Jennifer Barker and Christopher Brautigan; two special friends, Glenda Burba and Jean Perkins; several step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Rodney Rogers officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at St. Stephens Cemetery in Ft. Thomas with Nick Rottman officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
