Austin Christopher Hawkins, age 34 years, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, March 18, 2018 after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Austin was a 2002 graduate of Central Hardin High School and a 2004 graduate of Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. He was a lead senior designer at Altec, Incorporated for 10 years, where he made many friends. Austin attended Hodgenville Pentecostal Church, where he was in the choir and was an usher. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. Austin enjoyed playing basketball in his free time and always cheered for the University of Kentucky basketball team.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carold Grimes and Willard Hawkins.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Janiece Hawkins; four daughters, Gracie, Emily, Naomi and Kinley (Jessa); his parents, Chris and Pamela Grimes Hawkins of Elizabethtown; a sister, Alicia (Michael) Love of Glendale and his grandparents, Georgie and Doris Buckles of Eastview and Betty Grimes of Elizabethtown.
He leaves behind many lifelong friends, family members, co-workers, church members and community members who have shown strong support for him all along the way.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Hodgenville Pentecostal Church with Rev. David Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at the Hodgenville Pentecostal Church and will continue at the church after 11 AM Wednesday until time for services.
