Athena Lee Howell

Athena Lee Howell, age 61, of Buffalo, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin.

She was a former employee of Nationwide Uniform Company in Hodgenville and currently employed at Blue Oval.

Athena was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Beth Ann Parton Cain.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Edward “Tomcat” Howell; a daughter, Jessyka (Steve) Cain of Buffalo; a son, Travis (Carman) Cain of Magnolia; six grandchildren, Asher (Oliver) Lopez, Luanna (Michael) Huff, Adrianna Lopez Dakota Cain, Renesamee Huff and Wyatt Huff; a brother, Travis Cain of Texas and a sister, Gwendolyn Cain.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Bro. Shannon McCubbins officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
