Aaron Jacob McDowell, age 33, of Nashville, formerly of Hodgenville, passed away, Friday, October 20, 2023.
He was a 2008 graduate of LaRue County High School, Aaron found his love of music at a young age, he was a gifted musician and song writer and loved playing his guitar. He was a free spirit and was kind to everyone and never met a stranger, Aaron knew the Lord’s love, this was instilled in him at a very young age. He had a special gift for making people feel heard no matter what they were going through, he would help them just the same.
Aaron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Barbara McDowell.
He is survived by his mother, Melissa (Louis) Smith of Louisville; his father, John (Penny) McDowell of Glendale; a brother, Trenton McDowell of Louisville; his maternal grandparents, Fonzy (Donna) Medley of New Albany, Indiana and Pat Ansert of Louisville; two step-brothers, Cody (Lisa) Deely of Lexington and Jeremy (Breanna) Smith of Louisville; three step-sisters, Shannon Deeley of Glendale, Kristen (Kendall) Middleton and Keley Smith all of Louisville; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 27, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, Bro. Dennis Herron officiating. Burial will follow in South Fork Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
