William Hunter “Bill” Goatley, age 74, of Sonora, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church near Sonora where he taught the Adult Men’s Sunday School class; a lifelong farmer, retired supervisor for Coca-Cola in Elizabethtown, founding member of the LaRue County Pork Producers and served on the board of directors for the regional F.S.A.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Mitchell and Leola Clarice Sweazy Goatley and a sister, Paula Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hornback Goatley; two sons, Donnie Goatley and Billy (Paula) Cottrell all of Sonora; a sister, Janet (Bill) Husband of Louisville; three grandchildren, William “J.R.” (Brigitte) Cottrell, Coty (Kane) Beckwith and Mason (Bridgette) Goatley and four great-grandchildren, Kaya and Roan Beckwith and Lorissa and Brooklyn Goatley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Revs. Billy Curle and Mike Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Wednesday and after 9 AM, Thursday at the funeral home.
