He lived in Bracken County, Kentucky most of his youth, but moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with his parents who were church planters and ministers. That is where he met the love of his life, his rock and anchor, Shirley Bollinger. After a short courtship, they were married at Segar Avenue Church of God on August 3, 1957. Together, Bill and Shirley had four children and eventually moved back to his childhood home of Bracken County, Kentucky in 1973. Bill lived the next 29 years in Bracken County until he moved to Hodgenville, Kentucky in 2002.
Bill was an avid fisherman and spent much time fishing in Bracken County with his children and grandchildren and known for his strong work ethic. Above all, Bill was best known for his fierce loyalty to family. Bill and Shirley’s devotion to family was evidenced by their commitment to help raise their grandchildren, Brandon and Kayla Vermillion. Bill was born again in Maysville, Kentucky at First Assembly of God at a men’s ministry meeting. He then became an active minister in the jail ministry where he served for several years. Bill was also a member of the Mason Lodge # 80 in Augusta, Kentucky for more than 40 years.
