Noah Verdis Milby, age 83, was born on August 4, 1935 in Summersville to the late Noah Paxton “Dick” and Thallie Ford Milby and went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 24, 2018, surrounded by his family at his home in Louisville.
He retired from Lorrilard in Louisville in 1986 after 30 years of service; was a member of St. Matthews Lodge #906 F&AM and the Odd Fellows Lodge in Louisville, Past Master of the former Gavel Lodge #813 F&AM in Magnolia; a follower of Christ and a farmer.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles “Joe” Milby, Bernice Ball and Otto Milby.
Noah married Martha K. Smith on October 11, 1958 and to their union were born three sons, Vernon Milby and Steve (Gail) Milby, all of Louisville and Kevin (April) Milby of Mt. Sherman; six grandchildren, Leanna, Steven, Daniel, Becky, Morgan and Trentin; five great-grandchildren, Carlee, Aila, Logan, Lily and Madison with two more on the way. He is also survived by two sisters, Lavada (Cletus) Hawks of Magnolia and Wanda Vance of Summersville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday (ET), August 28, 2018, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bros. Garnett Tucker and Shannon McCubbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Salem Separate Baptist Church Cemetery near Magnolia.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7:30 PM (ET), Monday with Masonic Rites at 7:30 and after 10 AM (ET), Tuesday at the funeral home.
