Larry DeWayne Shive

Larry DeWayne Shive, age 51, was born July 2, 1966, in Elizabethtown, KY and passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, at his residence in Elizabethtown with his family by his side.

Dewayne loved God with all his heart and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He also loved the Pittsburg Steelers, Kentucky Wildcats, Baltimore Orioles and Ronald Reagan. DeWayne never met a stranger and would always find a connection to someone he knew even in the state of Hawaii. He worked most of his life building custom cabinets and performing insurance work. He assured that all his family had the finest in kitchen cabinets. His main hobby was watching sports and spending time with his family. He believed in hard work and earning your dollar.

DeWayne was preceded in death by his father, Larry J. Shive.

He is survived by his wife, Bridget "Lori" Shive; his mother, Shirley Estes Shive and sisters Daphne (Michael) Hornback and Lori (Gary) Brown. His legacy will live on with his nieces and nephews, Travis (Sam Jewell) Hornback, Miranda Hornback, Atticus Cates, Aidan Cates and Addi May Belcher.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 29, 2018, at Steadfast Baptist Church in Hodgenville with Bro. Phillip Quesenberry and Rev. Rodney Troutman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery near Buffalo.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM, Sunday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville and after 9 AM, Monday at the church.
