Jo Ann Wortham Coffey, age 80, of Hodgenville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was a faithful member of Union Christian Church, a devoted housewife and mother to many besides her own children. Jo Ann was a wonderful cook and fed many people, not only the body but also the soul with her quiet love, which filled her home.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Veechel Coffey; her parents, Jesse R and Mae Hornback Wortham; two grandsons, Nathan Coffey and Ross Baird; a daughter-in-law, Ramona Bartley Coffey; two sisters, Mary Lois Miller and Jessie Mae Wise and a brother, Jackie Wortham.
She is survived by a daughter, Teresa (Will) Thompson of Hodgenville; three sons, Davy Coffey and Dorma (Lisa) Coffey, all of Hodgenville and Bear (Ramona) Coffey of Boston; a sister, Faye Gray; an aunt, Ruth Wortham; a sister-in-law, Alvine Hampton; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Union Christian Church with Bro. Billy Curle and Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM, Monday and after 9 AM, Tuesday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
