Anita Nan Smith Ovesen, age 73, of Hodgenville, gained her angel wings on Friday, June 30, 2017, after a yearlong battle with cancer.

She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Hodgenville, was owner and operator of The Magic Mirror for over thirty years and retired from Hardin Memorial Hospital after twenty years as a unit secretary. Anita enjoyed gardening, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Ada Miller Smith and a half-brother, J.T. Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Andrea Engle and TaShawna Puckett; two sons, Mark and Terry Ovesen all of Hodgenville; a brother, Murrell Smith; eight grandchildren, Jerry (Lisa) Ovesen, Crystal and Kimberly Ovesen, Jacob Ovesen, Christopher Engle, Jesse (Delaney) Engle, Michael and Tyler Puckett; five great-grandchildren and a special friend, Patti Warren.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Louis Humes officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday and after 9 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
